Archer Aviation Partners with AEG for Air Taxi Operations in LA

Archer Aviation has teamed up with AEG, a large entertainment company, to bring flying taxis to Los Angeles. They plan to build a landing spot at L.A. LIVE in downtown LA. The goal is to start offering rides before the 2028 Olympic Games to help people move around the city faster.

The flying taxi is called Midnight, and it runs on electricity. It can carry four passengers at a time, fly up to 150 miles per hour, and travel about 100 miles on a single trip. Instead of sitting in Los Angeles’ heavy traffic, people will be able to fly right over it. However, the service cannot start right away.

The government has not yet given safety approval for paying passengers to ride in these vehicles. The companies also need to set up charging stations, create safe flying paths, and establish safety rules. At the same time, another competing company is trying to start its own flying taxi service in the same city.

Some experts doubt the idea will work anytime soon because the safety rules are strict and take a long time to pass. Others think it is a great way to save travel time. The next few years will show if these flying taxis become a normal way to travel or just a cool idea that never took off.
